Good morning!
Yep, we're only one month away from the start of the 2022 school year 🙀 I hope everyone is having a great summer and enjoying the warm days - if you're in Montreal right now, you know what I mean! We're off to a great start with an introductory email:
WELCOME! & about MUSA
Open MUSA Positions
Peer Mentorship - Job Offer
Safely Connected McGill: Call For Submissions
1 - WELCOME! 🎉 If you are a returning student here at the Schulich School of Music, we are so happy to see you again! If you are a new student, congratulations on your acceptance, and welcome! We are very excited to meet you! My name is Marie and I will be MUSA’s VP communications for the year 2022-2023. I will be sending out these e-mails every second Tuesday to relay information and share activity schedules within our student community.
But… What is MUSA? What’s its role? MUSA is your student association! Its role is to represent and promote the welfare and interests of the student body. We relay all relevant information and offer various services and activities to support the educational, professional, cultural, environmental, and social conditions of our members (that's you!) (MUSA Constitution, May 2022) We are very present on social media, make sure you follow us on Instagram(@mcgill_musa) not to miss anything! I also encourage you to visit our website to learn more! 2 - OPEN MUSA POSITIONS 🔥 Interested in being involved with MUSA? We still have some positions to fill:
Vp Academic
Vp External Affairs
Senator
1rst year representative
We will be holding elections at the end of September! More info to come in the next month, but this is something you can already start to think about. If you have questions or would like to discuss a position, contact Chenuka Lakwijaya, our president, at president.musa@mail.mcgill.ca . 3 - PEER MENTORSHIP - JOB OFFER 🤝 Starting in Fall 2022, Schulich’s new peer mentorship program will connect music undergraduates with upper-year students for support, community, and friendship. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership and active listening skills, and a chance to build long-lasting connections! Here is the job posting. Do not hesitate to contact Ariadne Lih, the equity, diversity and inclusion coordinator at ariadne.lih@mcgill.ca for any questions you may have! 4 - SAFELY CONNECTED MCGILL: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 😌 A message from Safely Connected McGill: “Safely Connected Mcgill is publishing Volume 3 of our zine, and we would love to include your work! This year's theme is resilience, growth, and transition, and we encourage you to share your journey with the following topics. We’re looking for individuals to share their experiences with eating disorders, disordered eating, dieting culture, body image, body dysmorphia, weight stigma, or other related topics. Contact Safely Connected on Facebook, Instagram, or by email for any submission questions. We look forward to seeing your submissions! “ Submission link: https://forms.gle/SR4LkrANFdkW53TE7 -- That’s it for today!
